How to Join a Recognized Student Organization (RSO), Department or Program Group/Page
- Navigate to the BaySync Tab on the MyCompass portal
- On the left Navigation Tab, click on Organizations
- To join a group, click on the + button near the Organization's name
- Once you have joined the organization, a checkmark is displayed where the + was
Another Way to Join a Group/Page
- Click on the Organization's name >>> a new page opens up with the group details
- Click on the Join Group button
- Once you have joined the organization, a checkmark is displayed
Steps to Leave a Group/Page
On the right-hand side of the BaySync page, it displays the Organizations that a student has joined.
- To leave a particular organization, click on the check button
- Once the user leaves, the + plus sign appears to indicate the user is no longer part of that group

How to Post & Respond to a Chatter
- Navigate to the Group's page from the BaySync Navigation >>> Choose the group where the post needs to be created.
- Click on the Discussion Tab
- Users have 3 options – To create a Poll, Post, or Question
How to Create a Poll
- To create a poll, choose the poll option, provide the questions and choices
- Once the poll is created, the members can vote on the choices provided. Comment and like features are enabled.
- To vote, choose the choice and click on the Vote button.
- Click on the View Results button to view the poll results.
How to Create a Post
- To Post, click on the Post option and provide the required details, and Post. The comments and likes are enabled to provide a discussion forum.
- To delete a comment. Click on the drop-down on the left side of the comment section. And click delete. To delete a comment, click on the delete button
Users have the option to flag the comment as Spam/Inappropriate and leave a note to the moderator before deleting the comment.

- Navigate to the BaySync Tab on the MyCompass portal
- Click on the event from the Events Page or the Group's Page
- Select the option and click on the RSVP button
- If there are any questions associated with the event, provide the details before clicking on the RSVP button
- Once RSVP is complete, the user will be able to add the event to Calendar – Click on ‘Add to Calendar’.

- Navigate to the BaySync Tab on the MyCompass portal.
- On the left Navigation bar, you will see a QR Code under the BaySync Profile
- This QR Code you can use to check in to all events that are posted on BaySync
