How it works

All can apply for services; no referral is required. Please note as a training program, we schedule clients within our semester terms of fall, spring, and shortened, very limited, summer clinic. Clients are scheduled for evaluations according to graduate clinicians' training needs and then in the order they are received. We typically evaluate one term and if we're recommending treatment at our clinic, then clients are on the waiting list for the next term. As with evaluations, therapy clients are scheduled according to training clinicians' needs. 

  • Please submit a completed application. Please email clinic@csueastbay.edu if you are unable to access the application.

    • Include supporting papers such as IEP’s and/or medical records.
      • The application is not considered complete if supporting papers exist but are not provided and will delay the processing of your application.

      • Note: When you send us an application by email, the information that is sent is not necessarily encrypted. This means a third party may be able to access the information and read it since it is transmitted over the internet.

  • It may take up to three weeks for us to contact you regarding your application.
  • There is a $25 fee for an evaluation and a $50 per semester materials fee.

Where we are

The Rees Clinical suite is located in the Music Building on the Cal State East Bay, Hayward campus. The Music Building is on the north side of campus, most easily accessed from Carlos Bee Blvd. All visitors to campus are required to pay for parking, $2 per hour or $10 for the day, including for those displaying a handicap placard.

For those mapping a trip to campus, our address is 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd MB 1099, Hayward, CA 94542. Due to COVID-19, please do not come to campus without contacting us first at clinic@csueastbay.edu

SUPPORT OUR CLINIC

  • During the academic year, the clinic runs on a donation basis.  Nominal materials fees are charged for evaluations and treatment. Payments can be made by cash, check, or credit card, and are accepted when services are provided.

    • On-site Evaluation - $25
    • On-site Treatment - $50
    • Telepractice Evaluation - $25
    • Telepractice Treatment - no fee 

    As a donation-based clinic, we rely on and welcome donations.  You can make a credit card donation at the button above, or send a check made out to "黑料福利网 Ed. Foundation" to Cal State East Bay Rees Clinic, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd, MB1099, Hayward, CA 94542. 

  • Our clinic offers sessions during the Fall, Spring, and limited Summer semesters of Cal State East Bay's academic year. Clients are typically seen either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday for 45 minutes. Our first appointments start at 9:00 a.m. and last appointments at 4:00 p.m., though we occasionally are open until 7:00 p.m.  Please note that the clinic remains open for many typical school closures.

    The schedule for Fall 2025 is Monday, September 8th through Thursday, November 19th. There are no sessions on federal holidays.

  • The Norma S. and Ray R. Rees Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic at Cal State East Bay is a teaching clinic for students who are preparing for careers in Speech-Language Pathology. All clinical procedures are conducted by students under the supervision of certified and licensed professionals.

  • Our clinic provides speech and language evaluations and treatment, including the development of home programs. Treatment may be provided in individual, paired, or group sessions. We serve clients with communication problems associated with stroke, developmental delays, autism, hearing loss, stuttering, cognition impairment, articulation, the voice, and others.

  • We provide services for all age groups, ranging from preschool to senior citizens. Services are scheduled without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, genetic information, medical condition, marital status, veteran status, or disability.  Please see our Equal Opportunity statement.
