  • Purpose: The purpose of the Student Advisory Committee is to review Accessibility Services (AS) policies and processes, providing suggestions for improvement where needed. Additionally, this advisory committee will provide AS with insight on the student experience at Cal State East Bay, enabling AS to proactively target areas of improvement across the campus.

    Member requirements: Be a student with a disability, receiving services from AS.

    Time Commitment: One year term. Meetings occur once per month.

    Lolita Hill I am a dedicated and determined student at 黑料福利网, East Bay, pursuing a master’s degree in hospitality, Recreation, and Tourism. Despite facing challenges due to vision impairment, I think I have exhibited remarkable resilience and commitment to my academic journey. With a strong educational foundation comprising an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, and Bachelor of Science degrees in Travel Marketing, as well as Hospitality, Recreation, and Tourism, I am bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to my current studies.

    Throughout my academic career, I have demonstrated a passion for the hospitality industry and a keen interest in promoting accessibility and inclusivity within the field. My determination to overcome obstacles and pursue excellence serves as an inspiration to my peers and instructors alike.

    As I approach the culmination of my graduate program, scheduled for completion in Spring 2025, I remain focused on my academic goals and determined to make a positive impact in the hospitality sector. With my unique perspective, coupled with my academic achievements and unwavering dedication, I am poised to become a leader in the field of Hospitality, Recreation, and Tourism.

Disability Access and Compliance Committee

The broad purpose of this committee is to assist in the evaluation of campus specific issues relating to compliance with CSU Executive Orders and federal/state laws through review of current campus policies and procedures relating to students with disabilities. Specifically the committee, and its subcommittees, will develop plans and recommend priorities relating to programs and services for students with disabilities. 

At this time, there are 5 subcommittees (though more may be added as priorities are determined). The subcommittees are:

  3. Web and Communication Access 

  4. Curriculum Access and Universal Design Initiatives

  5. Faculty and Staff Accommodation
  6. Accommodation Review (Ad Hoc)

Ad Hoc Committees

  • The Accommodation Review Subcommittee will consist of representatives from Accessibility Services, faculty representatives from 3 different academic departments across at least 2 different colleges, a representative from Academic Affairs (appointed by the Provost), and the Student Services Representative. 

    This committee will be convened at the request of Accessibility Services when a determination of reasonableness must be made regarding a student requested accommodation in a specific class or regarding the general reasonableness of an accommodation for a class or program which could be applied to all future requests by a student. 

  • Relevant (to the report) committee members, and other staff/faculty on campus, will be called to discuss and resolve reports of inaccessibility.
