General Information

The 黑料福利网 Noyce Teaching Scholarship program provides comprehensive support for students who plan to be or are already enrolled in the . Students in the Teaching Credential program have expressed a clear interest in a career in teaching and exemplify the teaching qualities that the Teacher Education Department strives to instill in the future generations of educators.

In addition, to Financial Aid, Noyce Scholars will also receive access to numerous academic support resources that aim to provide all-around assistance as they continue their educational journey such as:

  • Regular 1-on-1 meetings with TED and Noyce advisors to ensure timely academic progress and comprehension of the content. Beyond your average counseling sessions, Noyce advisors truly care about your academic success and your passion for teaching. Create personal relationships with your faculty and peers to establish a firm support group as you complete your credential and after you have entered the teaching workforce.

  • Access to the NSF Noyce network of current and past Noyce Scholars. By joining the Noyce program, you are connected to an ever-growing community of alumni and educators who were in your shoes. Learn study tips, professional development skills, and talk to teachers that used to be students to truly see if this career is for you.

  • Receive peer-guidance from experienced Noyce alumni in your local area. All Noyce Scholars will be connected to local Noyce alumni who are already teaching in your area. In Noyce, you are never alone on your journey.

  • Noyce Fellows get the exclusive opportunity to attend Noyce conferences, professional development trainings and workshops. The NSF will give you lifetime access to high-quality training opportunities in your area and across the country. The NSF will often cover the costs associated with attending so that students can receive training and attend conferences during and after they have graduated from Noyce.

Scholarship Requirements

  • Every Noyce Scholar is required to satisfy subject matter competency. They can do this by passing the exams. Students who are enrolled in the  are required to complete the CSETs to receive their California Teaching Clear Credential. This means that this requirement will be automatically completed once you complete the CSETs to graduate from the

    They can also satisfy this by completing a subject approved waiver program, by academic degree major or demonstrate Subject Matter Competency through Coursework Evaluation

  • All Noyce Scholars either will be (Credentials) or plan to (Seniors) enter the . In order to continue being eligible for the Noyce Scholarship means you must make timely progress to receiving your California Teaching Clear Credential.

  • Noyce Scholars receive individualized support from Noyce and Teacher Education Department (TED) Advisors. Scholars must regularly meet with faculty members to discuss how you are doing in the program, how do you feel about a career in teaching, how are your classes going, and what kind of support do you feel you need to successfully graduate and enter a teaching career.

  • Noyce scholars will receive access to a plethora of educational resources, support groups, and training opportunities. The 黑料福利网 Noyce program hosts regular workshops and professional development sessions throughout the academic year. It is the responsibility of every Noyce Scholar to attend these interactive and fun workshops.

Teaching Commitment Requirement

In addition to the above requirements, Noyce Scholars are required to teach in an NSF-designated high-needs school for at least 2 years for every 1 year of support received. This requirement must be completed within 6 years of graduating from the 

What does "high-needs" mean exactly?

The NSF defines a school as high-needs if at least 50% of the student body is on a free or reduced lunch plan. However, if at least 1 school is designated as a high-needs school, then the entire district will qualify. So there is no shortage of schools to teach in.

What If I Do Not Fulfill My Noyce Requirements?

It is the responsibility of all Noyce Scholars to fully commit to the  and the Noyce Teaching Scholarship Program. Failure to meet any or all of the requirements listed above will mean forfeiture of all NSF-Noyce funds as well as repayment of any funds received up until that point. The NSF requires all Noyce Scholars who do not satisfy the program requirements to repay all funds received, not the entire scholarship.
