What is an embedded video?

Embedding video allow you to post your or someone's(with their consent) video on your page.  It allows the user to watch the video without leaving the page they are current on.

What content types can I use to embed a video?

How To Embed A Video Above The Title?

  1. Log into and select your site.
  2. Navigate to the page you would like to embed a video.

  3. Select Edit.

    Select Edit

  4. Select a content type to add a video.
    In our example we will use the content area template.

  5. Select Video from "Image or Video?" selection.

  6. Add a  Video Title.

  7. Copy the YouTube Video ID.
    *Note, the video ID could be found in the URL.  The last 11 characters is the video ID.
    In our example our YouTube ID is "f513IUABHH4".

  8. Enter the Video ID in the field.

How To Embed A Video Between Text?

  1. Next we will add another video between some text. Select the Insert/Edit Media icon.

  2. Copy the entire URL from the browser.
    In our example our URL is "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f513IUABHH4".  Your URL should look similar to the example URL with the last 11 characters being different.

  3. Paste/enter in the entire URL in the source field.

    Note: (updated 2020) here it is imperative you also add a Video Title for accessibility.  Here's how: click on the Embed tab and insert a title into the HTML code:

    Example before:

    Example after:

  4. Select Ok.

  5. Add any additional text or media to the page.

  6. Select Preview Draft.

    Save and Preview

  7. After previewing changes made on your draft, select Submit.

  8. Enter Comments for changes made.

  9. Select Check Content & Submit to add changes to your site.

  10. Select the Check Box.

  11. When you're ready to go live, the last step is to Publish the Changes.
